At Bark and Bliss Animal Wellness Centre, learning goes far beyond the classroom. As the only full-service veterinary clinic with emergency care in the Turks and Caicos Islands, we offer students a rare opportunity to work hands-on in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where every day is different. From wellness visits to urgent cases, you’ll gain practical skills, clinical confidence, and an unforgettable glimpse into veterinary medicine in paradise.

Veterinary Medicine Students

At Bark and Bliss Animal Wellness Centre, we love sharing our passion for veterinary medicine with the next generation of veterinarians. Since opening our doors, we’ve welcomed several veterinary students for clinical-year externship rotations, providing hands-on experience in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Our lead veterinarian, Dr. Meghann, previously worked closely with the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine’s Elective Small Animal Surgery Program at her clinic in Minnesota, The Kindest Cut.  At Bark and Bliss—she enjoys offering students the opportunity to gain confidence in sterilization procedures, develop practical clinical skills, and explore modern, compassionate approaches to animal care.
If you’d like to complete one of your clinical rotations with us, please send your cover letter, resume, and preferred rotation dates to dr.meghann@barkandbliss.com. We look forward to helping you grow your skills and find your own “bliss” in veterinary medicine!

Veterinary Technician Students

At Bark and Bliss Animal Wellness Centre, we’re excited to share our love for animal care and clinic life with aspiring veterinary technicians. Our placement program offers students the chance to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a supportive and compassionate environment.
During your placement, you’ll work closely with our experienced technicians—both originally from Canada and long-time members of the island community. They bring a wealth of knowledge in patient care, anesthesia monitoring, lab work, client communication, and the many behind-the-scenes skills that keep a clinic running smoothly.

We strive to create an engaging learning experience where students can build confidence, strengthen technical skills, and explore our modern, wellness-focused approach to animal care.
If you’re a veterinary technician student interested in completing your placement with us, please send your cover letter, resume, and preferred dates to tatiana@barkandbliss.com. We look forward to welcoming you to the Bark and Bliss team!
